Brian E. Bard is the Director of Record Management and Office Services for Theodora Oringher Miller & Richman PC, a premier California business transaction and litigation law firm with offices in Los Angeles and Orange County. The addition of Brian's 17 years of legal records management experience to the Firm's senior management team in May 2004 has added valuable business and practice support to meet our clients' needs.
Brian handles all aspects of the Firm's Records Management processes from opening to closing. He oversees the design, development and administration of the Firm's automated records management system. He is also responsible for the Firm's ethical obligations regarding document retention, and the policies and procedures for the disposition and destruction of client files. Especially in today's "e-discovery" legal environment, following the rules of professional conduct and adhering to FRCP Rule 26 regarding discovery underscores our litigation readiness to assist our clients. Brian oversees various client services including the intake and transfer of client files, data management and compliance issues.
Prior to joining the Firm, Brian was Records Supervisor for Morrison & Foerster LLP in their 100-attorney Los Angeles office. During his nine-year tenure, he assisted in the implementation and roll out of their first fully automated Records Management System. Brian was also Records Manager for Arnold & Porter LLP and Office Services Manager at Greenberg Traurig, LLP.
Brian is a current member of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA), and past President of the Law Records Management Association (LRMA) Century City/Beverly Hills Chapter.
Brian earned his BS in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, and is originally from Eagle Grove, Iowa.
