Harvey Oringher is the Chairman of Theodora Oringher Miller & Richman PC. Harvey focuses on managing the Firm both from a strategic long-term as well as a day-to-day operations standpoint, working closely with its senior administrative management and attorneys. He understands that the practice of law is a business, and that our firm represents businesses and accommodates business issues. Thus, he continually scrutinizes matters with our attorneys to be certain we "add value" to our client's business equation.

Harvey draws from his 35-year legal background that started when he was a Captain in the US Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, later joining the US Department of Justice as a federal prosecutor in Los Angeles with the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section prosecuting major white collar crime, fraud, labor racketeering, political corruption and other RICO matters. After he left government practice, his private practice focused on business litigation and dispute resolution, employment law, health care law and white collar criminal defense.

In 1991, Harvey founded the Firm with several other senior lawyers who had similarly left large national law firms preferring a more client-centric, people-oriented approach to the practice of law. Since then, he has focused his management expertise on recruiting lateral talent from national and regional law firms to build Theodora Oringher Miller & Richman PC into a premier California business litigation and transactional firm of 40 attorneys with offices in Los Angeles and Orange County. His leadership success in building the Firm is exemplified by the fact that Citi Private Bank Law Firm Group annually places our firm in a "peer group" predominantly comprised of law firms many times our size.

Harvey is a forward thinker. He was an early adopter of law practice technology and is a believer in people and their ability to succeed if given the proper tools and support. Our attorneys frequently cite examples of Harvey facilitating and supporting their professional growth, providing them with individual attention and coaching, and helping them develop deeper and stronger practices. He believes in flexibility in the workplace and that hard work can fit within that framework. He helps associates and senior attorneys alike in their career and business development efforts with current and potential clients. Harvey is the consummate team leader and inspirational mentor.

Although he is primarily focused on managing the Firm, Harvey is still very much involved in legal work. It is common to find him fielding calls from lawyers around the country, determining the expertise within the Firm that will best meet the business and legal needs of the referral source or potential client, and passing along the work to one of our attorneys. Harvey often finds himself dealing with important strategic issues that may be impacting our clients, offering direction and counsel to lawyers and Firm clients. His openness and availability, and his honesty and integrity, combined with his command of business management, are the hallmarks of his success.

As the Firm's Chairman, Harvey views exceptional client service and ensuring our clients' business success as the most critical objectives of the Firm.
